We are a world/Chinese/Indonesian restaurant called Toetje, and we are looking for a passionate and motivated independent working chef to join our kitchen team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes while maintaining consistency, efficiency, and hygiene in a dynamic kitchen environment.
Tasks
Preparing and cooking dishes according to established recipes and standards
Washing, cutting, and preparing ingredients
Monitoring food quality (taste, texture, and presentation) and adjusting where necessary
Ensuring consistent quality and hygiene standards in the kitchen
Managing inventory, ordering ingredients, and checking deliveries
Cleaning kitchen equipment and maintaining a tidy workspace
Identifying and resolving minor technical issues in the kitchen
Assisting in menu development and improving cooking methods
Supervising kitchen assistants when needed
Requirements
Ability to work independently and take initiative
Strong sense of responsibility and problem-solving skills
MBO-3 level (or equivalent vocational training)
Proven knowledge of basic cooking techniques
Flexibility to work during the day, evenings, and weekends
Team player with good communication skills
