Clarksons, a global leader in maritime services, seeks an experienced leader to head the Agency team at Eemshaven. The role blends hands‑on ship agency duties with strategic leadership to maintain efficiency and customer satisfaction.

The Role

As Agency Team Lead you will bridge strategy and the quay, ensuring the Eemshaven office operates as a beacon of excellence.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership: Drive daily success of the agency team, including resource planning, shift schedules, recruitment, and onboarding of new talent.
• Operational Excellence: Perform ship agency duties, manage communication between vessels, port authorities and customers, and ensure all cargo and vessel documentation is flawless.
• Network Collaboration: Regularly sync with team leads from other ports to share best practices and boost operational performance.
• Commercial & Safety Mindset: Serve as a role model for QHSE, focus on Net Zero solutions and Zero LTI, support debt recovery and client visits to maintain strong margins and relationships.
• Flexibility: Participate in an out‑of‑hours rota and provide cover for other Dutch or UK offices when needed.

You are a self‑motivated professional who thrives in a fast‑paced port environment. You bring a "can‑do" attitude and analytical skills needed to solve complex logistical puzzles.

Requirements

• Experience: Proven background in ship agency and/or port operations, including customs procedures.
• Education: MBO4 or (preferably) HBO Bachelor level of thinking.
• Communication: Fluent in Dutch and English, both verbal and written.
• Tech‑Savvy: Confident in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Driving Force: Hold a current, clean, valid Dutch driving licence.
• Mindset: Natural collaborator who is resilient, inquisitive and dedicated to professional integrity.
