Eurofins Food Safety Solutions (FSS) offers an internship focused on the analysis and further development of data?'driven food safety risk assessments using EFSA monitoring data. You will work with the CompreHensive European Food Safety (CHEFS) database, which contains large?'scale analytical monitoring results from EU Member States covering contaminants, pesticide residues, veterinary residues and related hazards across more than 4,000 food products over the period 2000-2024. During this internship, you will focus on making the CHEFS database understandable through structuring, grouping and visualisations.
Qualifications
- You are a HBO/WO Bachelor or Master student in Data Science, Computer Science, ICT, Bioinformatics, or a related field.
- You have knowledge of and strong interest in data science and business intelligence.
- You are comfortable working with large datasets and are motivated to translate complex data into clear, actionable information that contributes to improved food safety.
- You have experience with PostgreSQL / SQL and are familiar with data visualization tools (e.g. PowerBI).
- You can work independently and autonomously, with outside expert support, while also actively contributing ideas within a young and collaborative team.
- You are analytical, structured, and eager to learn, with attention to data quality, interpretation, and reproducibility.
- You have a professional level in English and/or Dutch
