You start every morning at 06:00 AM. After clocking in, you head to the daily briefing, where your team leader discusses the most important items for the day, such as improvement points and safety issues. After that, you check on the screen when your workday will end (this varies between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM) and how many carts you need to process that day. Then, you put on your headphones and hop on your electric cart. Using the headset, you get clear instructions on where to be. You follow the numbers in the hall and pick up your cart there.
What will you do exactly? You move the flowers and plants on the cart to the right locations in the hall. After transporting the flowers, you place the cart at its final destination and scan the barcode on the floor. You also check whether the number of flowerpots or plant pots is correct. Once you've completed this, it's time for your break, where you can catch up with your colleagues. Your workday is already done, and you can enjoy the rest of your day with a good feeling.
As a logistics employee, you are responsible for ensuring a smooth and efficient process. Without you, the carts wouldn't be moved on time, and the whole process would come to a standstill. You make sure everything runs smoothly by:
- Picking up and moving carts to the right places in the hall.
- Scanning the barcodes on the floor for proper registration.
- Carefully checking the number of flowerpots/plant pots.
What do we offer you?
At Royal FloraHolland, you'll receive two paid training days, where you'll learn the logistical process and how to safely drive the electric cart. You work during the week and have weekends off. You can choose to work 3 to 5 days per week. The minimum number of workdays is 3 days per week. If you work 5 days, you can expect a workweek of 20-25 hours.
Through Actief Werkt!, you will be working at Royal FloraHolland in Aalsmeer. Royal FloraHolland has been the connection between growers and buyers of flowers for over 100 years and is the largest flower auction in the world. We operate at three locations: Naaldwijk, Rijnsburg, and Aalsmeer. This vacancy is for the position in Aalsmeer.
Actief Werkt! has an office at the flower auction, right next to the work floor. This makes it easy for you to stop by for a chat or if you have any questions. We're available Monday to Friday to help you!
