Within our Sugar desk, operational excellence is key. We ensure that every shipment, contract, and document is executed flawlessly. To strengthen our team, we are looking for a Senior Operations Officer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and brings solid experience in commodity logistics and trade execution.

Your impact

As Senior Operations Officer, you manage the end‑to‑end execution of our sugar contracts. You will oversee both bulk and container shipments, handle complex operational requirements, and collaborate closely with a broad network of internal and external stakeholders. In this role, you will also support junior and medior colleagues with your knowledge and experience.

What you will do

• Lead the full operational execution of sugar contracts, including shipment planning and documentation.
• Manage both bulk and container flows, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with contractual terms.
• Coordinate daily with traders, chartering, logistics providers, agents, surveyors, laboratories, and other partners.
• Review contract terms and charter party clauses, identifying and mitigating operational risks.
• Oversee internal and external stock positions and contribute to monthly reporting processes.
• Handle customer claims related to quality or performance and coordinate follow-up actions.
• Appoint cargo superintendents and maintain strong relationships with operational service providers.
• Ensure accurate processing of operational data, invoices, and accruals in our systems.
• Support and coach junior and medior team members where needed.

What you bring

Your background

• 3–5+ years of experience in trade execution or operations within commodities (e.g., sugar, grains, soft commodities, oils).
• Experience with container execution is highly valued.
• Background in international trading environments (trading houses, agri companies, logistics providers).
• Strong administrative and planning skills, with high attention to detail.
• Excellent command of English; additional languages are a plus.
• Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel.
• A bachelor’s degree (HBO/BA or equivalent) in logistics, supply chain, business, or a related field.
