Overview

SHEQ Officer / Coordinator — Location: Netherlands (multi-site role)

About Panda: At Panda, we are building a more sustainable future. As a leading waste and utilities business operating across Europe, we play a critical role in reducing waste, preventing pollution, and protecting natural resources. With over 3,000 colleagues across multiple countries, our focus is simple: creating safer environments for our people, our customers, and the communities we serve. Safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement are at the heart of everything we do.

The Role

We are looking for a SHEQ Officer / Coordinator to join our growing team in the Netherlands. This is a hands-on, site-based role where you will work closely with operational teams to drive a strong safety and environmental culture. You won’t just monitor compliance — you’ll actively shape behaviours, influence leaders, and help create safer, smarter ways of working across multiple sites.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring our operations meet the highest standards in Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ), while supporting the business to continuously improve performance.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Be a visible SHEQ presence across sites, working directly with managers and teams
  • Carry out regular site walks to identify risks and improve safety standards
  • Lead and support incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions
  • Analyse trends in incidents and proactively implement improvements
  • Support audits (internal and ISO) and ensure compliance with SHEQ standards
  • Build strong relationships with regulators and support inspections
  • Maintain accurate SHEQ documentation, reporting, and data
  • Support training initiatives and promote best practice across teams
  • Drive engagement and accountability for safety at all levels of the business
  • Contribute to tenders, pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQs), and SHEQ submissions
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience in a SHEQ / HSE role (2+ years preferred)
  • A relevant qualification (e.g. NEBOSH, MVK, HVK or equivalent — or willingness to achieve)
  • Understanding of ISO standards and audit processes
  • Strong communication skills — able to influence at all levels
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with the confidence to challenge and improve standards
  • Experience working across multiple sites is an advantage
  • Strong organisational and reporting skills
  • Full driving licence (role involves site travel)
What You’ll Get in Return
  • Competitive salary: €35,000 – €45,000 (depending on experience)
  • 24 days holiday + public holidays
  • Ongoing training and professional development (fully supported)
  • A role with real impact in a growing, sustainability-focused business
  • The opportunity to shape safety culture across multiple operations
About Us

We are Panda. We value waste.

We’re in the business of waste management but that doesn’t just mean collecting bins. Behind every collection is a passionate team of people finding smarter, safer, and more sustainable ways to recycle and repurpose materials that would otherwise go to waste.

Over the past 30 years, Panda has grown into a leading resource recovery business, bringing together almost 3,000 people across multiple brands, united by a shared vision and strong values. While our operations are diverse, our purpose is clear: to protect our people, support our customers, and create positive impact for the communities and environments we serve.

At Panda, people are at the heart of everything we do. We work as one team, combining different skills, experiences, and perspectives to achieve shared goals. We care for each other’s wellbeing, encourage development, and support growth because we know we’re stronger together.

We expect excellence in how we operate. High standards, bold thinking, and continuous improvement drive our passion for innovation. We challenge the ordinary, put safety first, and embrace new ideas while delivering practical, cost-effective solutions that move our business forward.

We own what we do. From day-to-day tasks to major projects, we take pride in our work and responsibility for the outcome. We don’t walk past problems we address them together. Our expertise, reliability, and care reflect who we are and the difference we make.

And above all, we act with trust and integrity. Trust is built through open communication, honesty, and accountability. It allows us to move quickly, make confident decisions, and deliver results — knowing our people are empowered to do the right thing.

Our journey depends on talented, committed people who want to make an impact.

Take the first step and join us on the journey.

Panda is committed to attracting and retaining a skilled and diverse workforce that reflects the communities in which we operate and the people we serve. (DE&I Policy Statement)
