As a Payroll Specialist, you will deliver a proactive, employee-focused, and professional payroll service. You will play a vital role in the Finance and HR teams by ensuring accurate and timely payroll administration across multiple regions. Your responsibilities will encompass tasks related to payroll processing, compensation administration, and compliance with local regulations. You will work closely with HR Business Partners, employees, payroll providers, and internal stakeholders to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of all payroll processes.
What you’ll do- Own end-to-end payroll cycles for Belgium and the Netherlands, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
- Collect, validate, and process payroll inputs including salaries, bonuses, allowances, overtime, and other variable components.
- Review payroll calculations, payslips, and outputs to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Act as the main point of contact for payroll providers and handle offboarding or severance cases.
- Administer health insurance, long-term sickness, and other benefits in compliance with local legislation.
- Prepare payroll reports, support audits, and contribute to continuous process improvements.
- Respond to employee payroll queries and ensure timely distribution of payslips and payment documentation.
- Manage payroll systems (e.g., Deel, Mazars, ADP) and oversee integrations with other HR platforms.
- 5–7 years of hands-on payroll experience, preferably in global or international payroll (retail experience is a plus).
- Proficiency in HRIS, payroll, and accounting software.
- Knowledge of Belgian and Netherlands payroll regulations is a plus.
- Excellent English communication skills; additional European languages are an advantage.
- Ability to work under pressure, independently, and maintain confidentiality.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Understanding of labor legislation and payroll compliance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of Macros and Power BI is a plus.
