What function?In this role, you support our customers in the high tech industry with developing cutting-edge equipment, both in the Brainport region and internationally. Together with experts in mechanics, mechatronics, electronics, software, and mathematics, you will bring high-tech solutions to life, such as advanced lithography machines, compact electron microscopes, or medical devices that automate human tissue analysis.
What excites you as a Senior Designer Mechanics?- Act as a sparring partner to Architects and take ownership of translating specifications into innovative mechanical concepts and design solutions.
- Perform essential (hand) calculations, tolerance analyses, and define critical-to-quality dimensions.
- Visualize concepts and designs in 3D, contributing to product development in close collaboration with Architects, System Designers, and Engineers.
- Ensure designs meet customer needs and can be manufactured, assembled, tested, and serviced efficiently at optimal cost.
- Work closely with suppliers to align aspects like manufacturability, component availability, and integration of vendor parts.
- Take ownership of broader, more complex scopes and challenges within the mechanical domain, e.g., competence development, mentoring, or system-level thinking.
- Provide technical leadership to a team of engineers and designers, guiding them in mechanical development efforts.

What do you bring to the table?- A BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering or Electro-mechanics.
- At least 10 years of experience and expertise in the design of mechatronic and precision systems.
- Creativity and skill in finding design solutions based on multidisciplinary requirements and concepts.
- Excellent knowledge and experience with Design for excellence (DFX: cost, manufacturability, assembly, serviceability).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to coach, mentor, and guide other Engineers and more junior Designers.
