About the Role

The Sr Manager is responsible for leading the department, delivering extensive AB testing, analytics, and insights for Viking’s webshop business. You are accountable for ensuring that the team has the tools, processes and standards to deliver value, as well as advocating for exceptional customer journeys and user experience. Search, Product recommendations and configurations are being brought to extraordinary levels. You create a culture of customer focus, speed to market, collaboration and data-driven decision making. You deliver actionable insights, frameworks and optimizations for the purposes of the advancement of Viking's webshops and online revenue growth.

What You Will Do
  • Define and own the strategy for all disciplines (user research, user experience, web analytics and optimisation) within the CRO team.
  • Define the toolkit and standards for all disciplines within the team, including those used for A/B testing, multivariate testing, personalisation, UX design/storybook, customer journey insights, web analytics, and more.
  • Define over-arching goals, objectives for your team. Ensure these are aligned within other Digital Factory functions and aligned to company strategy.
  • Ensure the CRO’s strategy is informed and aligned to the short-, medium- and long-term strategic objectives of the Digital Factory.
  • Lead a team responsible for supporting and ensuring the successful delivery of all CRO activities, across a range of domains and expertise within your function.
  • Keep in touch with market trends for web optimisation and identify which tools/processes are best fit for Viking.
  • Work with other departments to ensure tooling and activities are aligned within Viking and shared across the group’s other subsidiaries.
  • Work in conjunction with Product Management to use ROI dashboards/scorecards on proposed and delivered capabilities.
  • Frequently report insights gained and their proposed impact/business benefits to Viking’s eCommerce business.
  • Prepare business cases based on evidence gained from research activities, working with business stakeholders and Product Managers to agree a path for implementation via the roadmap.
  • Participate in roadmap planning, ensuring CRO activities are aligned to the roadmap. Equally, advocate to ensure the roadmap is informed of the opportunities and actionable insights gained by CRO.
  • Ensure forecasted delivery of research and testing is accurate and aligned to the needs of our business.
  • Be the champion of the customer, ensuring a culture of fanatical customer service, internal efficiency and data-driven decision making.
  • Define internal metrics to be used by team to continuously improve their own processes.
  • Ensure onsite tests, business insights and other available analysis is used to drive forward value delivery using a test and learn approach.
  • Provide the delivery Squads with UX and Web Development support to ensure effective cross-functional delivery of new eCommerce capabilities, avoiding handoffs and process bottlenecks.
  • Ensure your team is developed and encouraged to continuously improve in their roles, by setting and supporting clear development goals.
  • Provide line management, performance management, goal setting, personal development planning and mentoring to your team.
  • Optimise the search engine and plan improvements and implementation of features. Monitor the search results and work with the team to improve the results and connected journeys.
  • Work with the configuration team to improve customer journeys, configurations, content and the product taxonomy.
  • Extend and improve the Webshop playbook. Create frameworks for a seamless customer journey as well commercial as usability.
What You bring Required knowledge & Skills
  • Bachelor or Academic degree and relevant experience is required.
  • 4-6 years’ experience in eCommerce web optimisation and Agile delivery.
  • Clear understanding of web optimisation, UX and analytics tools and techniques, at a strategic level.
  • Customer Focus; dedicated to meet the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers.
  • High commercial and strategic awareness, with ability to translate strategy into actionable targets for the department.
  • Exceptional communicator, presenter and facilitator in a variety of formal settings.
  • Drive for Results; can be counted on to exceed goals successfully.
  • Problem solving; uses rigorous logic and methods to solve problems with effective solutions.
  • Process Management; knows how to organise people and activities.
  • Analyses facts not opinions – constructively challenges the views of others with supporting data and an evidence-based approach.
  • T‑shaped skills – specialist in the web optimisation domain with ability to make connections across different disciplines.
  • Leadership experience ideally within eCommerce and onsite performance.
  • Experience in leading teams to adopt best practice and transformation.
  • Experience or awareness of change management.
  • Fluent knowledge of English, spoken and written. Other language skills (Dutch, German and/or French) would be an advantage.
