What are my responsibilities?
As Learning & Development Manager, you shape how learning happens at the Renaissance Amsterdam Hotel. You create practical, engaging development experiences that help our ambassadors and leaders grow with confidence. Working closely with the hotel leadership and People & Culture team, you translate business needs into meaningful learning initiatives, from onboarding and skills training to leadership development and future capability building.
In this role you will:
Bring our Mission, Vision and Values into training programs, helping translate them into real behaviors and leadership practices.
Design and deliver engaging in-person trainings, including onboarding programs, core skills development, leadership workshops and brand trainings.
Stay connected to the hotel floor, listening to ambassadors and leaders to identify development opportunities and turn them into practical learning solutions.
Ensure all mandatory local, compliance and Marriott & Renaissance brand trainings are completed and well embedded in daily operations.
Support performance and development conversations by providing tools, frameworks and learning interventions that help people grow.
Contribute to workforce planning by identifying skill gaps and future development needs.
Coordinate the recruitment, onboarding and development of interns across the hotel.
Work closely with the People & Culture team and Executive Committee to understand business priorities and translate them into clear learning initiatives.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for a Learning & Development Manager who believes in the power of learning to unlock potential. Someone who enjoys working with people across the hotel, from operational teams to senior leaders, and who understands the rhythm and realities of hospitality.
You are organised, approachable and curious by nature. You enjoy being present on the floor, connecting with teams and turning everyday moments into opportunities for growth.
To be part of this journey with us, you:
Have a Bachelor degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration or Human Resources Management.
Command strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Have previous experience in Learning & Development, Training or Human Resources, ideally within hospitality.
Are confident facilitating workshops and speaking in front of groups.
Have experience designing and delivering engaging training programs for different audiences.
Understand the importance of compliance and mandatory training in a hotel environment.
Can communicate fluently in English and preferably Dutch.
Eligible to work in the Netherlands.
