As Delivery Chapter Lead, you are fully accountable for the line management, development, performance and professional standards of all delivery professionals within IT.

This is not a stepping-stone role. This is a role for a leader who can operate independently from day one.

Your responsibility

All delivery professionals report into you.

Your accountability includes:

  • Performance ownership and talent development
  • Managing senior delivery leads in a matrix environment
  • Building a community of delivery professionals with clear expectations on performance and career progression matrix
  • Addressing structural underperformance
  • Conducting difficult conversations, including improvement trajectories and exit decisions
  • Leading through organizational change and ambiguity
  • Safeguarding professional standards under pressure

You will operate in a high‑visibility environment with senior stakeholder involvement and competing priorities.

You are expected to:

  • Set clear behavioral and performance standards
  • Celebrate success and share learning
  • Intervene early when standards slip
  • Maintain calm authority during escalations
  • Protect your chapter from unnecessary noise
  • Make decisions without waiting for consensus

About the team

The Delivery Chapter consists of experienced delivery professionals operating across multiple IT domains and initiatives.

They face:

  • Tight timelines
  • Executive visibility
  • Competing business demands
  • Internal and external stakeholders (including nearshore/offshore teams in India)

Your role is to ensure they remain effective, accountable and professionally sharp.

You are expected to unburden the organisation, not require heavy guidance yourself.

Must‑haves

  • Proven senior line management experience in complex IT organisations
  • Experience managing senior professionals and delivery leads
  • Experience leading teams through reorganisations, structural change or scaling phases
  • Demonstrated experience handling structural underperformance and exit decisions
  • Ability to operate independently in high‑pressure, politically complex environments
  • Strong stakeholder management at senior level
  • High level of self‑awareness and reflective capability
  • Experience working with distributed, nearshore and offshore teams

Nice‑to‑haves

  • Experience in telecom or large‑scale technology organisations
  • Experience building or scaling a chapter model
  • Experience in private equity or performance‑driven environments

You must already live in the Netherlands (work permit required), preferably within ~30 km of The Hague, and you’ll work at least 3 days per week from our Den Haag office.
