As a policy officer within the department of International Affairs, you will play a pivotal role in advancing the internationalization ambitions of Amsterdam UMC. You combine strategic vision with hands‑on execution. You will not only develop (international) policy and contribute to establishing our framework to pick our preferred international partners, but also organise and facilitate meetings, and maintain active engagement with our internal forum of stakeholders. You thrive in a dynamic and evolving environment, moving seamlessly between high‑level strategy and practical implementation. In this role, you will collaborate closely with colleagues to build the department, structure international activities, and stimulate strategic partnerships. Your ability to translate complex challenges into actionable solutions will be key to your success.
Responsibilities- Develop and advise on policies for international positioning and collaboration.
- Coordinate, organise, and facilitate strategic meetings, working sessions, and stakeholder forums.
- Draft strategic documents, advisory reports, and proposals for international partnerships.
- Identify international trends and translate them into actionable opportunities for Amsterdam UMC.
- Build and maintain connections between departments, experts, and networks across Amsterdam UMC.
- Manage and maintain an internal stakeholder forum to ensure ongoing engagement and alignment.
- Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Ability to switch between strategic thinking and practical execution, taking ownership of both process and outcome.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and able to tailor your message to different audiences.
- Skilled in stakeholder management and relationship building, able to connect and engage with people at all levels.
- Proactive, take initiative, and comfortable working independently in a small, agile team.
- Flexible and thrive in a dynamic environment.
- Comfortable facilitating meetings and maintaining engagement in stakeholder forums.
- Proficient in English; good understanding of Dutch (at least B1/B2). Additional language skills are a plus.
- Initially a one‑year contract.
- Classification in salary scale 10, € 3.493 to € 5.669 gross for full‑time employment (depending on education and experience).
- 8.3% end‑of‑year bonus. Calculate your net salary here.
