Job DescriptionThis is a high-trust, high-accountability position for an experienced leader who can serve as (Future) statutory director for their Dutch entity and act as the local authority for governance, compliance, contracting and cross-border trade requirements.
While you will manage no direct reports, you will have substantial influence across Sales, Customer Service, Tenders, Procurement, Operations and Finance. Helping teams move faster without compromising compliance or risk standards.
You will be the go-to person in the Netherlands for Dutch corporate obligations, EU regulatory frameworks, import/export controls and commercial contracting, balancing rigor with commercial pragmatism.
- Ensure compliance with Dutch corporate law, director duties and governance standards.
- Serve as primary local representative with regulators, banks and external authorities.
- Be the regional authority on Dutch/EU commercial and regulatory requirements impacting Sales, Customer Service, Tenders, Procurement and Business Development.
- Review and approve key commercial, logistics, and service contracts for the Netherlands and cross-border transactions involving Dutch entities.
- Ensure agreements align with Dutch law, EU regulations, and import/export controls; advise on risk allocation, structure and compliance to enable quicker execution.
- Manage relationships with external legal, tax, audit and corporate service providers-using external counsel as specialist support rather than default.
- Advise commercial and operations teams on regulatory feasibility, timing and risk for opportunities & tenders.
- Maintain alignment with EU and Dutch trade controls and sanctions regimes.
- Provide executive oversight of statutory accounts, audits and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with Dutch tax and VAT requirements and financial reporting obligations.
- Act as an authorized local signatory in line with delegated authority and governance.
- Partner with Global Finance on budgeting, forecasting and financial governance.
- Handle day-to-day legal/regulatory matters internally where appropriate; elevate and engage experts for specialist issues.
- Ensure compliance with relevant Dutch/EU laws (including employment law, health & safety, and GDPR).
- Identify, manage, and elevate legal, regulatory and compliance risks.
- Provide executive oversight for the Dutch operating company supporting the EU Distribution Center.
- Enable logistics, distribution, and commercial operations to scale while staying compliant.
- Act as a trusted advisor to regional and global leadership on Dutch/EU business practice and risk.
- Proven experience as a Statutory Director / Director / Legal Entity Director (or equivalent senior accountability) in the Netherlands.
- Strong working knowledge of Dutch corporate and contract law, EU regulatory frameworks and cross-border trade compliance.
- Demonstrated experience with import/export controls, licensing, and regulatory documentation for international business.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen within multinational structures (holding + operating company environments).
- Fluent in Dutch and English (written and spoken).
- Comfort operating as a hands-on individual contributor with broad stakeholder influence.
- A market‑competitive salary ranging from €90.000 up to €125.000
