IT System Integrator

About the role

As IT System Integrator, you play a central role in bringing our battery sites to life. While your IT counterpart focuses on cloud software and internal systems, you take ownership of the industrial and hardware side: on-site networks, edge computing, meters, connectivity and integrations with external partners. You translate functional requirements into practical site architectures, validate designs, and guide third-party installers through smooth implementation and commissioning.

You will start with our Leopard project, where the main architecture is already defined and your focus is on validating, executing and improving it in practice. From there, your role grows quickly. For future projects like Lion and Green Turtle, you help design the architecture from the ground up and drive standardisation across sites. You work closely with IT security, developers and multiple vendors. This is a hands‑on, high‑impact role where you combine engineering, coordination and decision‑making, with plenty of room to step up and shape how we scale.

Your key responsibilities

• Turn functional requirements into robust IT/OT site architectures, covering networks, edge compute, connectivity, security and testing standards.

• Lead system integration on our battery sites by delivering clear documentation, steering third‑party installation and commissioning, and safeguarding quality and performance.

• Connect local systems and metering to our central SCADA solution platform and external parties such as TSO and market operators, ensuring reliable, accurate data flows.

• Proactively challenge suppliers and installers on technical choices, while keeping projects moving with a pragmatic, results‑driven mindset.

What we are looking for

You are a hands‑on system integrator who enjoys complex environments, likes working with both hardware and IT, and gets energy from building things that really matter.

Furthermore, you bring:

• 3 to 5+ years of relevant experience in system integration, industrial IT/OT or hardware‑focused engineering roles (experience in energy or BESS is a plus).

• Solid knowledge of networking, industrial protocols (IEC‑104, IEC‑61850, IEC‑62443, etc), edge compute sizing and serial/IP connectivity.

• Experience creating and reviewing architectures and diagrams and coordinating external installers and vendors.

• Confident in challenging third parties on technical quality, safety and feasibility.

• Comfortable working independently, setting priorities and making decisions under time pressure.

• Strong communication skills in English, a collaborative attitude, and healthy self‑awareness.

• HBO level or higher, for example in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, Computer Engineering, Embedded Systems, IT, or a similar technical field.
