You will own the cloud strategy and compliance roadmap as an IT Cloud Lead and ensure all solutions meet enterprise standards while building a team. At Deloitte.
What will you make?This role is ideal for an experienced cloud professional ready to step into strategic leadership. You'll act as the trusted technical soundboard, while fostering a culture of continuous learning and accountability. This is a hands‑on leadership position where you balance strategic vision with technical credibility, working closely with NSE Cloud, Global Services, and security teams to deliver secure, compliant, and cost‑optimised cloud solutions.
How do you do this?- Own cloud strategy for the team: Define and maintain the cloud roadmap for your area (e.g. Landing zone, platform services, standards), aligned with enterprise architecture and security/compliance requirements.
- Lead and grow the cloud engineers: Do 1:1s, coach on design and best practices, ensure the team delivers reliably (sprint goals, operational KPIs).
- Ensure reliability, security, and cost control: Take accountability for availability, performance, security posture, and cloud spend (SLOs, incident management, cost optimisation).
- Coordinate with stakeholders: Work with product owners, dev teams, security, networking, and management to prioritise work, manage expectations, and plan deliveries.
- Govern standards and ways of working: Define and enforce patterns for IaC, CI/CD, tagging, backup/DR, access management.
- Vendor and platform management: Manage relationships with internal cloud platform providers and key SaaS/PaaS vendors, monitor SLAs, and represent your domain in audits and reviews.

With your personal strengths, view of the world and unique personality. You need the following qualifications for the position of IT Cloud Lead:
- Minimum 8+ years’ professional experience in IT, with a proven track record delivering enterprise infrastructure and platform projects.
- At least 5+ years’ hands‑on cloud experience (Azure preferred; experience with AWS/GCP desirable), including design and implementation of networking, identity, storage, compute, PaaS, monitoring and security.
- Minimum 3+ years’ people leadership / line management experience (coaching, 1:1s, performance management and career development).
- 3+ years’ experience owning cloud platform strategy or platform engineering responsibilities — defining roadmaps, governance (IaC, CI/CD, tagging), SLOs and cost‑optimisation.
