Hi, we are Samotics! đ With our unique, AIâdriven solution we help many of the worldâs largest industrial companies to make unplanned downtime history and reduce energy waste. Our mission? To reduce the global energy consumption by 10%! Read more about it.
We are looking for an Electrical Signature Analysis (ESA) Specialist. Are you interested in doing research and development with regards to rotating electrical machines failures and diagnosis, analyzing realâcase scenarios and helping our customers to prevent unplanned downtimes? Do you want to make an impact in a fast growing company? And are you ready for an acceleration in your career? Then read on!
About the team đAs an ESA Specialist you will be working on Research and Development tasks to improve our Asset Health product (SAM4), in a crossâfunctional product team composed of data scientists and other ESA specialists. You will also perform inâdepth analysis of assetâs failures based on ESA and support other teams within our company.
Your challenge đŻContribute to the development of our condition monitoring tool, by the use of signal processing techniques and the creation of new features based on ESA that can be used as input for AI models developed within the team.
Analyze ongoing failure incidents performing root cause failure analysis and diagnosis, supporting the Condition Monitoring Analysts and Customer Success teams when aligning communication with customers.
Making proposals for the prevention of missed faults, by inâdepth analysis of historical cases and proper documentation of them, and also researching for improvements that can be tested and implemented.
Assists other departments within Samotics that require inâdepth knowledge of ESA.
A Msc. In Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with 3+ years of experience in a similar position, (or a PhD) which includes experience with diagnosis and root cause failure analysis of electrical motors using ESA, with practical experience in the detection of failures in assets running in the field and/or theoretical experience with simulating failure modes in a testing setup or a laboratory environment.
Requirements for this position are:
Good knowledge of electrical motors (electrical machine modeling is a plus).
Knowledge about variable frequency drives (domain of control theory is a plus).
Familiarity of applications where electrical motors are used. (water pumps or oil and gas industry is a plus)
Understanding of the parts of a drive train (feeder-motor-transmission-application), its different failure modes and a creative mindset to perform root cause failure analysis.
Knowledge of electrical signature analysis and the use of Fourier transformation (experience with timeâfrequency analysis, as wavelets, is a plus).
Good communication skills (experience on communicating failure detections to customers in industrial environments is a plus).
Understanding of electrical line diagrams (knowledge of grounding topologies is a plus).
Familiarity with different technologies used for condition monitoring (experience with vibration analysis is a plus).
Programming skills (proficiency in python is a plus).
Good knowledge of spoken and written English (a second language is a plus).
Make a positive environmental impact by reducing energy waste, preventing pollution and eliminating unplanned downtime.
Vibrant and professional company culture based on freedom and responsibility.
Competitive salary, holidays, and benefits package (pension scheme, parental leave...).
Relocation package and visa sponsorship
Hybrid and onsite working opportunities.
