For a good client of mine I am looking for a Payroll Specialist that will join the team as soon as possible.
As a Payroll Specialist, you will be a key member of the Dutch Payroll team based in Amsterdam, part of Global Business Services. You'll play a critical role in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing for employees in the Netherlands, including complex cases for expatriates and impatriates.
This role is ideal for a payroll professional who enjoys working in a multinational, fast-paced environment, combines strong analytical skills with a customer-oriented mindset, and wants to actively contribute to process improvements and quality enhancements.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the monthly payroll control process, including detailed checks, validations, and analysis
- Act as the payroll subject matter expert for expatriate and impatriate payroll, serving as key contact for internal stakeholders and external accountants
- Handle complex payroll cases and second-line support requests from employees and third-party vendors
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, including tax authorities and pension fund payments, in line with legal and regulatory requirements
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using payroll analytics
- Ensure compliance with internal control frameworks (ROCK)
- Collaborate closely with our People Services Center in Pune (India) to ensure data accuracy and a reliable monthly payroll
- Manage and monitor relationships with external payroll providers, ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met
- Lead or contribute to cross-functional projects focused on quality, efficiency, and standardization
- Proactively identify and propose improvements during post-payroll reviews
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent through experience)
- At least 4 years of payroll experience, preferably in a complex, multinational environment
- Strong knowledge of Dutch payroll, including compliance and controls
- Experience handling expatriate and impatriate payroll
- Fluent in Dutch and English (spoken and written)
- Advanced user of MS Office; strong ability to analyze extensive datasets within Excel
- Strong analytical skills and a high level of accuracy
- Proactive, positive, and solution-oriented mindset
- Comfortable working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines
- A collaborative team player who thrives in an international setup and likes working in a solid team
