Financial Controller

As Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the full financial backbone of the organisation and act as a trusted sparring partner for the leadership team. The position offers significant responsibility from day one and a clear growth path towards a role with CFO responsibilities. What you’ll do

You will take end-to-end ownership of the finance function and act as a strategic partner to the leadership team and shareholders.

• Own the finance back office, including accounting, reporting, contracting, and controls.
• Prepare and maintain annual accounts (jaarrekeningen).
• Keeping budgets, forecasts, and financial plans aligned with company goals.
• Translate financial data into clear, actionable insights and advice for management.
• Prepare and present shareholder-level financial decisions.
• Continuously improve financial processes to support scale and speed.
• Act as the financial “single source of truth” across the organisation.

This role goes far beyond reporting numbers, it’s about shaping decisions.

What we’re looking for

You combine strong fundamentals with a startup mindset.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or equivalent).
• 3–5+ years of experience in accountancy or financial control.
• Strong and proven expertise in Excel (you’re fast, accurate, and structured)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to adjust quickly to changing priorities and conditions
• Sharp analytical thinking with the ability to see the full financial picture
• Proactive, ownership-driven, and comfortable advising leadership
• High learning velocity and adaptability. You grow with the company

Nice to have (not required).

• Experience in a fast-growing SaaS or scale-up environment
• Exposure to investor reporting or board-level interactions
