HSE Officer

This role is part of our Specialized Nutrition factory in Zoetermeer and reports directly to the HSE Manager. In this factory (with over 500 Danoners) we produce specialized liquid medical nutrition that contributes to the well‑being of vulnerable target groups (infants, elderly and sick) in over 55 countries. In this role, you’ll support HSE across designated departments at our Zoetermeer site while taking a leadership position in WISE culture elements and 12BS standards. You’ll champion safety awareness by coaching, motivating, and inspiring employees and contractors, fostering a strong sense of ownership.

The following matters are part of your duties:

• You will monitor compliance with legal HS standards, form the plan of corrective measure, involve employees to close local requirements non‑conformities, contact with external companies or local authorities based on your duties.
• Support the Engineering & Maintenance and Facilities departments in terms of HSE part by:
  • Request & reviewing all documentations from the contractors & sub‑contractors’ companies to be sure that all works will be provided by following all HSE regulations and Danone HSE rules.
  • Reviewing Health & Safety (H&S) plans provided by contractors and sub‑contractors.
  • Check and make sure that H&S plan is implementing in a correct way.
  • Organizing pre‑work meetings for the contractor’s & sub‑contractors’ company to explain all important HSE related topics and be sure that all safety measures are in place.
  • Coach, assist and check if work permits prepared in a correct way.
  • Creating and delivering Risk Inventories and Evaluations (RI&E), Project RI&Es, Task Risk Assessments (TRA), etc.
• Facilitating and following up on the safety culture & 12 BS Standards development in the assigned departments.
• Striving for “0” accidents in your assigned zones, where you take on an expert role in safety.
• Make a daily observation tours:
  • Attend department DDS to check correctness, completeness and quality of safety data sharing. Making the DDS health check;
  • Monitor the availability of the necessary visualization.
• Facilitating and following up all necessary activities and trainings based on your duties.
• Performing internal safety audits / observations.
• Lead some of 12BS Standards & Safety culture elements for the whole Zoetermeer site.
• Organizing and actively supporting HSE‑related meetings (like: Departmental Consultation, WISE² working group, etc.).
• Drawing up internal communication and awareness campaigns.

You’ll work together with your colleagues towards efficient safety management; you will be supported by a team of experts which help you adapt and provide assistance at any time.

For this challenging position, we are looking for someone who is able to provide structure and lead an improvement agenda.

• You have a bachelor's degree related to occupational safety and/or Occupational hygienist or at least a with a technical background.
• You have +2 year of experience in safety within a production environment.
• MVK certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Safety is a passion for you and you are willing to develop your knowledge at this direction!
• You are motivated, driven, solution‑oriented and a team player.
• You persevere until you have achieved the desired result and always strive for a “win‑win” situation.
• You are a person type, who has a hands‑on approach.
• You have smooth communication skills and can speak in front of a group.
• You are available for 40 hours per week.
• You are fluent in Dutch and English.
• You have knowledge of the MS Office package.
