Maintenance Team Lead

Our client is a dairy cooperative with international presence, formed by dairy farmers in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. The company has a large product range including milk, yoghurts, baby and infant nutrition, cheese, butter and several locations in the Netherlands, serving global markets.

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Maintenance Team Leader to oversee daily maintenance operations at a busy food production facility. In this role, you will lead, coordinate, and optimize both corrective and preventive maintenance activities to ensure the smooth, safe, and efficient functioning of machinery, installations, and buildings.

• Lead and supervise a team of maintenance planners and technicians (mechanical, electrical, and all-round).
• Ensure maintenance work meets quality and safety standards, with a focus on compliance and risk management.
• Coordinate with external contractors and suppliers to support maintenance tasks when necessary.
• Manage maintenance budgets, prepare reports on downtime, KPIs, and budget adherence, and contribute to strategic planning.
• Foster team development through knowledge transfer, training, and coaching, promoting continuous learning and skill enhancement.
• Oversee the planning and execution of maintenance activities within SAP PM, ensuring schedules are adhered to.
• Standardize procedures based on central technical policies and monitor KPIs to ensure best practices.
• Play an active role in solving machinery failures, analyzing incidents, and initiating improvement actions to reduce downtime.
• Ensure compliance with SHE regulations, work permits, safety procedures, and workplace organization standards (5S).
• Promote safe behavior, correct application of LOTOTO, TRA, and work permits, and set an example in safety commitment.

• HBO level education, preferably in engineering or technical field.
• Proven management and leadership experience in a maintenance environment, ideally within the food or process industry.
• Knowledge of maintenance processes specific to the food sector is highly preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to make decisions confidently and effectively manage teams.
• Experience with SAP, particularly SAP PM, is required.
• 5-8 years of relevant work experience, including maintenance operations and team management.
• Fluency in Dutch and English is preferred.
