The Company Our client is a leading organisation in the food and dairy industry seeking a dedicated Laboratory Team Leader to oversee laboratory operations at their production site. This company is committed to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and compliance within their manufacturing processes.
Role Description We are looking for a proactive and skilled Laboratory Team Leader to temporarily step into a leadership role, guiding a team of approximately 15 analysts. The position involves ensuring smooth daily lab operations, maintaining strict adherence to safety and quality standards, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the laboratory environment.
Responsibilities- Lead and manage a team of about 15 laboratory analysts in microbiological, chemical, or physical testing environments.
- Ensure daily laboratory activities run efficiently and in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Maintain focus on safety and quality during both peak and quieter periods.
- Collaborate closely with other departments such as technology, quality assurance, and production.
- Contribute to the annual quality control plan and participate in various improvement projects.
- Act as the main point of contact for lab-related matters within the organisation.
- HBO level education or equivalent.
- Experience leading or supervising a team, ideally within a laboratory setting.
- Background in analytical chemistry preferred, with knowledge of ISO17025 standards.
- Experience or familiarity with the dairy industry, particularly milk powder production, is an advantage.
- Proven leadership skills and the ability to operate in a dynamic production environment.
- Fluency in Dutch is required.
