EU Senior Corrugated Packaging Buyer will be responsible for a spend of approx. 150 EURSpent, focused on all Europe an WBU: Dairy & Plant Based (EDP), Waters and Specialized Nutrition (SN) portfolio.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Development of the strategy and management of your category on a day-to-day basis.
- Understand, challenge and anticipate key business needs by analyzing market trends, propose, validate & implement mid to long-term EU Corrugated strategy, from upstream materials (paper) to conversion supplier (including assessment, development of supplier, negotiation of conditions).
- Identify and leverage supplier capabilities in long-term development processes, bringing major competitive advantages, including implementation of supplier strategy, continuous improvement, cost models, MRM and price lists.
- Identify and lead or support bottom line (tender, duplication projects, should cost analysis, transformation) and top-line (innovation, sustainability analysis…) by driving & implementing productivity projects, functional specifications and innovative solutions to fulfil consumer demands in the region.
- Lead a big portfolio simplification project with EU CBU and many internal stakeholders, factories, suppliers.
- Acting as an ambassador of the packaging policy, supporting the business to achieve the corresponding sustainability targets (SBTI targets).
- Connect inside the Danone organization cross-functionally to ensure supply security, support innovations, fill productivity pipelines and ensure needs of the business are fulfilled in line with the strategy implementation.
- Ensure business continuity and build strong Business Continuity Plan (BCP) Budget and estimates, reporting & risks management.
- Monitor the financials (Budget, estimated, opportunity & risks).

About youTo be successful in this role you need to have at least 5 years of experience in procurement, proven leadership capabilities, a ‘can-do’ attitude, be analytical, able to propose new ideas, ready to drive change with a mindset of excellence in execution.
Previous experience in packaging categories would be a great benefit to become successful in this role. As this role foresees a close interaction with the key suppliers as well as multiple internal stakeholders across the globe you need to have solid presentation and negotiation skills, excellent stakeholder management skills and be highly disciplined.
In addition, you have:
- Qualities of rigor, structuration. At ease with excel and power point, being able to build models and implement them into the company and suppliers.
- Be comfortable with continuous moving environment, capacity to be resilient.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Good communication skills and strong relationship capabilities to gain credibility and create an efficient network within CBUs, suppliers, leadership.
