What does the position look like?
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer you have a pivotal role in the team that creates high-tech systems for our customers. You take the lead in translating requirements into concepts and select the most suitable concept in consultation with all stakeholders. This typically involves engagement with customers in project acquisition.
Together with a team of other mechanical and mechatronic engineers, you will then create a detailed design. As lead engineer, you break down the design into submodules, divide the work over the team members, provide them with guidance, and protect the overall integrity and quality of the system design. You are involved in the manufacturing of the prototypes, improving the design based on the feedback from the proto builds and the system verification. You oversee the finalization of the design until it can be transferred to smooth series production. You will be based in our office in Ypenburg (The Hague).
The following tasks are part of the job:
Generating and evaluating concepts for modules and systems;
Guiding and coaching junior engineers;
Modeling (CAD, FEM), creating and reviewing technical documentation;
Alignment with stakeholders (customers, suppliers, supply chain, operations);
Sales support
What do we ask of you?
Bachelor or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or comparable major;
A minimum of 10 years' experience in precision mechanics or the conviction that you have developed similar skill level with less experience;
Proficiency in 3D/2D CAD and FEM;
A creative mindset combined with a pragmatic approach;
Soft skills for coaching team members and alignment with stakeholders;
Good command of the Dutch and English language.
