Tasks
As an Android Engineer at SyncVR, you won't just be pushing pixels; you’ll be the bridge between our XR software and the medical hardware. Your daily mission will include:
- Feature Implementation: Build and refine features for the SyncVR Treatment Manager using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, ensuring a seamless interface for clinicians.
- Hardware Integration & Optimization: Profile and optimize app performance and tablet ecosystems to ensure low-latency, "nausea-free" experiences.
- Modular Architecture: Contribute to a clean codebase with various external services and APIs.
- Deployment Pipeline: Support the lifecycle of our apps from local builds to remote deployment across hundreds of hospital-managed devices, alongside a senior Android lead (>10yrs experience).
- Collaborative Problem Solving: Work closely with our XR Unity developers to ensure the Android "wrapper" and the VR "core" communicate flawlessly.
- Platform Focus: You will support the SyncVR Treatment Manager, ensuring smooth app launches and performance on XR headset and tablet hardware.
Requirements
- Android Development Experience: You’ve spent 1–3 years building Android apps and enjoy contributing to projects that make a real impact.
- Strong Technical Foundation: With a Computer Science or related degree, you understand software architecture and best practices, giving you the tools to build robust, scalable apps.
- Kotlin Proficiency: You write clean, maintainable Kotlin code and embrace modern Android patterns to create smooth, reliable user experiences.
- Real-World Production Experience: You’ve worked in mobile agencies, startups, or software houses, and you know what it takes to deliver polished apps that users love.
