The Position: As a
Team Lead in Cloud (R&D) you have a key role in driving the vision of our existing products and innovation topics. First and foremost, the Team Leader works alongside the team as a senior developer building, shipping, and maintaining complex infrastructure at scale. The Team Lead is also responsible for managing the team and its delivery on a day-to-day basis, developing, challenging, and growing the team and its capabilities. In addition to the above as a Team Lead, you need to help to resolve incidents and work together with the escalation manager for the incident management processes. Driving the continuous improvement process from a software development, team culture, and personal development perspective is key to the rapid growth of the Cloud Infrastructure team. As a Team Lead, recruitment is an important part of the job. Besides the team focus, you have a strong focus on innovation and product development by delivering value in increments with your team. For this, you work closely with the product manager and the team to break down the long-term goals into actionable steps, identifying challenges and risks, leading investigations into new and existing technologies, and driving decision-making towards implementation.You will help deliver:
- Product Roadmap and vision
- Enable the team to plan, deliver, and provide operational support across the portfolio
- Continuously improving the observability of our platform, so that we can fix problems before they occur
- Improving our automation and surrounding tooling to further streamline deployments and platform upgrades
- Improving the way we use Cloud resources, and defining cost optimization strategies
- Improving internal and external documentation for the team
We're looking for:
- 8+ years of overall experience in software product development with around 2 years in leading scrum teams
- You lead by example
- You understand the mindset: you build it, you run it
- You are an artisan and able to create reliable, maintainable, and scalable solutions
- Willingness to work with the Mendix low-code application development suite; twenty percent of your time will be in this domain
- You thrive in unknowns and welcome challenges along the way, balancing experimentation and pragmatism
- Ability to find the right tool/language for the problem; currently, this team works in Java Microservices (Springboot), Postgres
- Experience with Cloud providers like AWS and working knowledge of Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm, AWS, OpenSearch, Kafka, Aurora vector db
