Covestro Functional Optic Materials (FOM) is a dynamic business unit within the Covestro Coatings & Adhesives entity. Specializing in resin coatings for internet glass fibers, we operate three sites: one in the Netherlands and two in Asia. YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As Site Manager, you will develop, implement, and realize the site manufacturing plan within the Coatings & Adhesives business and manufacturing strategy in line with Covestro’s functional guidelines and requirements. Additionally, you will develop, structure, and manage the site organization to realize the objectives of the business.
Major Tasks
- Implement HSE structures and systems to meet legal requirements, ensure quality, and maintain a safe workplace.
- Define and implement the site manufacturing plan in line with strategic objectives to ensure timely production and delivery.
- Oversee all operations, including production, maintenance, project execution, HSEQ, security, and logistics.
- Monitor the site manufacturing plan and take corrective actions as needed to meet objectives.
- Identify and mitigate operational and HSE risks to meet established goals.
- Manage relationships with neighboring companies, governmental organizations, and service providers to ensure business continuity and compliance.
- Handle crisis management and participate in the emergency response scheme.
- Promote operational excellence and efficiency, driving a high-quality performance culture based on our strong foundation of LEAN.
- Collaborate with sales to understand and meet customer needs.
- Manage, coach, and motivate approximately 75 employees to ensure a committed and skilled workforce.
- Actively coach site management team members and department heads.
- Implement HR structures and systems in line with Covestro guidelines.
- Work with finance to manage the yearly cost budget.
- Define and report on performance indicators to facilitate timely decision-making.
WHO ARE YOU?
- You graduated from an appropriate technical discipline (equivalent of Master in Science) with 3-5 years experience in Operations leadership;
- You have a passion for effective HSE (Plant and Process Safety) and behavioral culture in high hazardous manufacturing operations;
- You have a demonstrable track record in the effective development of teams at multiple levels of an organization;
- You are able to drive a high-performance working culture with successful talent development initiatives;
- You have excellent communication and influencing skills, tact, and diplomacy to effectively interact with personnel, senior business management, customers, local authorities, and neighbors;
- You have a passion for continuous improvement culture and processes with an optimistic approach to problem-solving;
- You are fluent in Dutch.

- Do you travel business kilometers with your own transportation? Then you will receive a mileage allowance of € 0.36 per kilometer, of which € 0.23 is untaxed.
- a work from home allowance of € 2.35 per day if you work from home.
