ResponsibilitiesAs a Senior (Financial) Accountant you will work in the finance team and report to the Finance Manager. Together with the Senior Financial Accountant you are responsible for the periodic closings of various entities in the Europe. In addition, the following tasks and activities are part of your responsibilities:
- Ensure correctness, timeliness and completeness of the financial accounts of the German entity and several affiliates entities.
- Evaluate procedures and work processes, advise improvements in this area (quality and efficiency) to the VP Finance Europe;
- Work together with local accounting firm’s and affiliate Certara entities;
- Create monthly journal entries and accruals;
- Provide monthly reports from the financial system and continuously maintain en improve these reports;
- Process and align intercompany relations;
- provide auditors with input for the yearly financial statements;
- Process VAT submissions;
- Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities and support as needed.

- Planning of the tasks and responsibilities, to safeguard continuity at all times
- Set priorities in the work
- Monitoring of the progress and the quality of the output
- Ensuring correct compliance with regulations and procedures
- To be continuously informed about internal and external rules and laws and regulations
- Company language is English;
- Daily contacts with the European Finance team
- Regular contacts with European employees on expense claims and statutory benefits
- Daily contacts with Finance colleagues in other Certara companies.
- Frequent contacts with outside accounting firms
- Regular contact with project- divisional leadership
- Regular contacts with audit firms, suppliers, clients
- A completed HBO/WO education in a financial direction;
- 3 years of relevant work experience;
- You are proactive, you know how to quickly understand numbers and you have leadership skills;
- A good command of the Dutch, German and English language;
- You are available 32-40 hours a week.
