Department Description and responsibilitiesOffshore is a global solutions provider in the offshore oil, gas and renewables industry. Primary Tasks and responsibilities- Make sure all cable related operations are done in the most safe and optimal way.
- Lead a team of 10 to 15 members (foremen and operators).
- Hold the shift handover meetings with the team onboard.
- Liaise with colleagues on the bridge and surveyors for an optimal cable operation.
- Run and supervise all operations on the back‑deck. This includes the operability of the Cable, installation System (CIS), ROVs, cranes and other equipment onboard.
- Make sure works are performed with the highest level of safety.
- Take care the integrity of the cable during loading, transporting and installation phases.
- Do a daily log of activities performed.
- Assume responsibility for overseeing the cable installation process, ensuring precise, secure cable placement, and upholding the highest quality and performance standards.
- Utilise your technical acumen to identify and resolve complex technical challenges that may arise during cable installation, ensuring the seamless progress of projects.
- OIM is single point of contact, but the Cable Lay Superintendents have daily contact with the client representatives during the operations and to answer questions about the progress and technical questions.
- 7 years of experience in submarine cable installation, demonstrated through several years of experience in senior technician or similar roles.
- Safety Focus: A strong commitment to prioritising safety and adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
- Leadership Excellence: Proven leadership abilities and exceptional communication skills to effectively manage and lead a diverse team.
- Strong communication skills
- Good knowledge & experience with MS Office
- Good command of English, both written and spoken
- Fit for Offshore work.
- MSC/MSc Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering OR equivalent through experience.
- Valid US Visa or B1 OCS Wind (!) Visa

- Fluent speaking and writing English, proficiency in other languages is a major plus.
