We are seeking a skilled Chemical Lab Technician to join our client’s team in Eindhoven to provide hands-on support to engineers and researchers. This role is focused on executing laboratory experiments, preparing materials, and performing characterizations to generate high-quality, reliable data. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with chemicals and laboratory equipment, an eye for detail, and a practical, hands-on mindset.
This is a 6-month position with potential for extension.
Responsibilities- Prepare and execute laboratory experiments in line with established protocols and procedures.
- Perform chemical synthesis, material preparation, formulation, and characterization using a variety of techniques.
- Accurately collect, record, and report experimental data in a structured and timely manner.
- Conduct a range of physical, chemical, optical, and surface characterizations by operating laboratory equipment (e.g., rheometer, FTIR, tensiometer, white light interferometry, DMA, and other relevant techniques).
- Contribute to method development for laboratory equipment; prior experience is a big plus but not required.
- Ensure strict compliance with laboratory safety standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with engineers and researchers to optimize experiments and share results.
- Maintain a well-organized laboratory environment and properly handle all chemicals and materials.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, or Materials Science and Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in a chemical laboratory environment.
- Proven experience in handling chemicals safely and following laboratory protocols.
- Familiarity with chemical formulations and material testing.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to spot irregularities in experiments.
- Comfortable working closely with engineers and scientists, sharing data and observations.
- Practical, hands-on mindset with the ability to stay focused on lab-based execution.
- Skilled/experienced in utilizing multiple materials characterization techniques to analyze chemistry and properties of UV-curable materials (e.g., Rheometer, FTIR, DMA, curing tests, Tensiometer and other spectroscopy techniques).
