About the RoleAs a Service Sales Engineer in our service sales department, you will play a key role in bridging technical expertise with commercial success. You'll support our Service Sales team and customers by developing tailored solutions, preparing quotations, and ensuring smooth project handovers. You'll also be instrumental in shaping the future of our department as we are transitioning to a more commercially driven set-up.
- Collaborate closely with Regional Business Managers (RBMs) and Sales Companies (SCs) to understand customer needs and translate them into technically and commercially attractive proposals.
- Deliver lean and fast technical sales support to the Alfa Laval Sales Companies.
- Serve our customers globally as part of the team, with individual focus regions under your personal responsibility. Visit customers or Sales Companies when required.
- Develop and present technical and financial proposals, ensuring alignment with customer systems and expectations.
- Maintain and improve cost calculation and quotation tools (Excel-based).
- Estimate costs, resources, and timelines for customer proposals.
- Ensure smooth handover of projects to execution teams, acting as the key technical contact.
- Support internal sales teams with training, documentation, and product awareness.
- Visit vessels to assess technical requirements for repairs, retrofits, and upgrades.
- Help drive the transformation of the department by contributing to process improvements and commercial initiatives.
You're a technically skilled professional with a commercial mindset. You enjoy working with customers, solving complex challenges, and contributing to team success. You're ready to help shape a department in transition. Further, you have:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical-, Chemical-, or Marine Engineering.
- Experience in technical sales or application engineering (marine industry preferred).
- Good knowledge of written and spoken English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Willingness to travel internationally (approx. 10-30 days per year)
