Role
As Manager Business Control at Van Oord Dredging & Infra (DRI), you are a true finance business partner for DRI Operations (global dredging and infrastructure projects in execution) and activities in a specific part of the world (e.g., Europe or South America). You see ahead to future possibilities and translate them into strategies. To achieve the desired results, you coach and drive a team of Business Controllers and a variable number of Project Controllers. You will be part of the relevant Management Teams (Operations and region), where you both facilitate and challenge from a business economic perspective. In the Management Team of DRI Finance & Control, you are a valued team member, contributing ideas on creating a future-proof finance function and further automation. You report to the Financial Director of DRI.
Key responsibilities:
- Acting as a Finance Business Partner in the Management Teams of DRI Operations and the region, ensuring value creation in the business
- Facilitating data-driven decision-making through automation and focusing on reliable and accessible data & KPIs
- Advising on projects, contracts, joint ventures, and acquisitions
- Responsible for the entire Planning & Control cycle and ensuring a uniform way of working
- Managing risk & compliance
- Overseeing balance sheet management, investments, and M&A
- Coaching & developing the team
- Serving as a director for several joint ventures
- Contributing to the development of a well-structured finance function
You are an ambitious finance professional who truly wants to understand the business and its drivers. You achieve this using your interpersonal skills and well-developed analytical and strategic abilities. You are a quick thinker who doesn't get stuck in concepts and who delivers tangible results. You are resilient, aware of your limitations, and able to effectively handle changing circumstances and uncertainty.
You have:
- A completed master degree in a financial/economic discipline, preferably supplemented with CFA or EMFC
- At least 10 years of relevant experience (including in a management/leadership team)
- Experience in an international operating organization
- Flexibility in leadership style and the ability to put things into perspective
You are:
- A 'global citizen,' you recognize the value that different perspectives and cultures bring to an organisation
- Fluent in multiple languages; in addition to English, you speak Spanish or Portuguese. If you speak Dutch as well, that’s a great advantage.
- Entrepreneurial: you foresee opportunities, anticipate, and initiate actions to capitalize on opportunities or mitigate risks
- Flexible in the broadest sense, without losing sight of your own agenda

- Gross annual salary up to max 150K (including holiday allowance)
