The Role:
As a Financial Controller at SolarDuck, you will be instrumental in establishing and managing our financial operations, guiding our financial strategy, and supporting our mission to transform the renewable energy sector. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will build and lead the Finance team, manage third-party service providers, and drive key financial initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Finance Function Development: Build and shape a finance function that evolves with company growth, including:
- Establishing financial policies and procedures
- Implementing financial systems and tools
- Developing and monitoring a strong internal controls system, financial risk management, and compliance with financial regulations and standards
- Building a skilled finance team
- Developing financial planning and analysis capabilities: planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Financial Operations: Oversee accounting, financial analysis, tax, and treasury activities.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to GAAP/IFRS and other regulatory requirements.
- Reporting: Prepare and present management information monthly, quarterly, and annually to the executive team and board of directors.
- Cash Flow Management: Ensure adequate liquidity for operations and investments.
- Accounts Management: Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate payments and receipts.
- Collaboration: Work with project managers and senior leadership to develop and implement financial strategies.
- Strategic Recommendations: Provide financial insights and strategic recommendations to support business growth and long-term planning.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 7-10 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
- Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) required.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and financial reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (experience with Exact, SAP, and/or Primavera is a plus).
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strategic thinking, contributing to business planning.
- Experience in sustainability companies and project finance.
- Adaptable, goal-oriented, and attentive to detail.
- Experience with agile project management is a plus.
