Indirect Tax Analyst EMEA

At the EMEA headquarter of Netflix in Amsterdam, a position has become vacant for an Indirect Tax Analyst EMEA who is reporting to the Indirect Tax Compliance Manager EMEA. The position is part of a team of multiple Indirect Tax Specialists in the office and will be working closely with the rest of the tax and finance teams in Amsterdam as well as various other stakeholders, both in EMEA and other regions. The position will be independently responsible for the reporting and compliance obligations for certain countries within the EMEA region, and will work on process and data improvements.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Ensure accurate and timely submission of (outsourced) Indirect tax returns (mainly VAT, but including WHT, property tax and DST);
• Monitoring tax accounts positions and performing account reconciliations for EMEA entities;
• Assist with day-to-day Indirect tax queries from other departments;
• First point of contact for VAT audits in your countries and communication with local tax authorities;
• Support projects from Indirect tax compliance perspective e.g. New businesses set-up, changes in legislations, automation, etc.;
• Identifying and providing recommendations to streamline/automate the indirect tax processes.

Candidate Requirements:

The ideal candidate has a strong fit with the Netflix values and culture, has an educational background in accounting and/or taxation, and has some 4-6 years of relevant experience with month-end closes and indirect tax compliance. You have a strong VAT accounting background and have worked in an international, preferably in-house environment. You have experience with ERP systems and with VAT registration in multiple countries. Fluency in English is required, other regional languages are considered a plus.

• Have advanced Excel experience with the ability to navigate large data sets;
• Possess an innovative mindset and have the ability to drive process improvements and automation.
