What function?In this role, you support our customers in the high tech industry with developing cutting-edge equipment, both in the Brainport region and internationally. Together with experts in mechanics, mechatronics, electronics, software, and mathematics, you will bring high-tech solutions to life, such as advanced lithography machines, compact electron microscopes, or medical devices that automate human tissue analysis.
What excites you as a Mechanical Architect?- Close collaboration with customers, fellow architects, the Project Manager, Account Manager, and the broader project team to ensure alignment and synergy.
- Translate customer needs into specifications, define mechanical architecture, budgets, and conceptual designs of (sub)systems.
- Specify test and integration requirements to complete the V-model development cycle and ensure product design quality.
- Build and maintain internal and external networks to support organizational growth and success.
- Drive innovation by introducing new technologies and solutions, applying theoretical principles in practical project contexts.
- Lead by example, motivating designers and engineers to take ownership of their deliverables.
- Manage broader, more complex scopes of work, including stakeholder management, technical leadership, and guiding larger multidisciplinary teams.

What do you bring to the table?- MSc or PhD in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering.
- Proven track record in mechanical design within high-tech systems and/or equipment.
- 10 to 15 years of experience in mechatronic and precision system design, depending on seniority level.
- Broad multidisciplinary orientation, understanding how mechanical expertise integrates within complex systems.
- Strong analytical and abstract thinking skills, with proficiency in various analysis methods.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Recognized as a technical leader and inspirational coach, with deep theoretical and practical knowledge in technical design, mechanisms, precision mechanics, and Design for Excellence (DfX).
- A flexible 32-40 hour working week, with room to work from home.
