Senior Accountant

In Rotterdam, you will be part of a team of around 80 colleagues and work closely with your peers in the Finance Team of five. You will report to the Financial Controller based in Rotterdam. For our Rotterdam site, we are looking for a curious and proactive Senior Accountant with strong analytical skills. In this role, you are responsible for the day-to-day financial administration and the monthly closing of our Dutch entity. You work closely with the Financial Controller, to whom you report, and act as a business partner for colleagues within Finance, Operations and Sales in our dynamic, international environment.

• Execute and coordinate monthly, quarterly and annual closings
• Prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and cost allocations
• Ensure compliance with local accounting regulations
• Support audit and financial reporting processes
• Prepare and analyse financial reports and forecasts
• Contribute to cost accounting and inventory valuation
• Improve internal controls and administrative processes
• Manage A/P, A/R, G/L, payroll, banking and costing
• Actively participate in ERP system improvements (IFS)
• Support consolidation activities

You have strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail and you pro-actively search for opportunities for process improvements to work on.

You also bring:

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in accounting or financial control, with knowledge of all key finance processes
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably IFS
• Experience with consolidation platforms (Oracle FCC experience is a plus)
• A background in cost accounting and financial analysis
• Personality: Curious. Analytical. Takes initiative.
• Excellent command of both Dutch and English
