Are you ready to take on the exciting challenge of shaping the global markets for beans and Red Beet? KWS Vegetables is actively seeking a proactive Global Product Manager for our dynamic Bean and Red Beet crops, based in Andijk, the Netherlands. As a Global Product Manager, you will outline a clear crop strategy and drive choices, by continuous managing the portfolio range from evaluation and development until commercial introduction. You know how to get all stakeholders involved and make them support your plans.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage and steer the portfolio in line with the crop strategy, optimization of the assortment.
• As part of Strategic Crop Teams (SCTs) develop overarching crop strategy
• Coordinate with Breeding and Sales on mid/long term breeding objectives, priorities and product specifications and ensure clear communication between all stakeholders.
• Design a global trial plan in line with the crop strategy, including organizing meaningful evaluations and data collection to make professional and market-oriented elevation decisions.
• Evaluate trials (qualitative and quantitative), collect data via PD systems like Mercado
• Act as a linking pin by getting R&D, sales, and seed supply aligned
• Market intelligence, collection/validation market data, understand markets, trends, drivers and competitor behaviors (incl. Competitor varieties)
• Understand the food supply chain, detect challenges and translate this knowledge into relevant solutions for our partners.
• Monitor the margin development of the portfolio and advise on value based pricing.
• During the period of July – September, you will travel extensively (60-70% of your time) throughout Europe and the United States to evaluate trials on site and talk to customers.

To seed your future, you’ve got the following skills:

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy or similar fields, with a preference for candidates possessing minimum 5 years or more of experience in the international seed industry, particularly within vegetable seeds.
• A helicopter view to connect the dots; you are good at steering things to make sure the right things will happen.
• Commercially driven and results-oriented with strong self-organization and proactive management skills.
• You are able to work with different cultures. For example, you will deal with West Frisian, European, American and Asian cultures. It is important that you can have everyone on board with you.
• You are fluent in spoken and written English. Additional language(s) are an advantage.
• Entrepreneurial: Demonstrates initiative and the ability to build new strategies and processes from the ground up.
• Analytical: Possesses a keen analytical ability to evaluate data and market trends to drive strategic decisions.
• Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, facilitating effective collaboration and negotiation.
• Self-Organizing: Highly capable of managing multiple projects independently, ensuring timely and successful completion.
• Team Player: Works effectively within team settings, promoting cooperation and shared objectives.
