In this role, you will play a key part in shaping our financial insights, supporting strategic decision-making, and driving commercial performance across the organization. Reports to: Head of Financial Planning & Reporting
Your impactAs a Senior Financial & Commercial Controller, you take the lead in financial controlling with a strong focus on commercial performance and sustainability-related activities. You act as a key sparring partner for the business and play an important role in shaping Sunweb Group’s strategy by:
- Delivering monthly analysis of financial results
- Providing clear gross margin insights and ensuring accurate financial reporting
- Contributing to the annual budget and 3-year strategic planning cycle
- Preparing performance reporting for the Supervisory Board, including ESG metrics
Your work provides transparent reporting, sharp insights, and high-quality recommendations that support data-driven decision-making across Sunweb Group.
What you’ll do Financial Control- Perform monthly analysis of results, with a specific focus on commercial activities
- Review actuals and post journal entries related to gross margin
- Conduct deep-dive analyses on key topics such as flight and upsell results
- Support automation and process improvements within financial control
- Prepare and review slides for the monthly Supervisory Board report
- Partner with commercial teams to provide insights on deep-dive topics
- Support sustainability (ESG) reporting
- Contribute to budget, strategic planning, and forecasting processes
- A Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- 5–8 years of progressive experience in (financial) Controlling
- Solid accounting knowledge (GAAP expertise not required)
- Fluency in English with strong business writing skills
- Experience with sustainability/ESG reporting is a plus
- Experience with Excel, PowerBI and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) is considered a plus
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to create clear, insightful analyses and financial models
- Proactive, results-driven, and comfortable working independently
- Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities
- Passion for finance and a commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality work
