Vacaturebeschrijving

Summary:

Do you like to dive into details when it comes to data? And to work on business challenges and solutions in a new platform in Azure? Please apply!

Job Description:

As a Data Warehouse Engineer at NIBC, you will work on the development of a brand new Data Warehouse (DWH). Together with the team, you will design data models, build ETL processes, and test out the new increments and implementation of our current DWH in Azure. Additionally, you will be responsible for monitoring the daily automated processes and fixing issues as they arise. We work Agile/Scrum, which means the team consists of a product owner, scrum master, and development team.

You understand the importance of data to clients and our organization. With your enthusiasm and willingness to learn, you will contribute towards the future business and IT needs. Together with the team, you will create a plan for how data will support and enable this, based on the data architecture. You will be a sparring partner for business/IT stakeholders, with whom you implement data solutions.

Currently, we are transitioning our technology to the Cloud, which means you will embark on a big adventure with the rest of the team to explore the new opportunities that will arise.

As a Data Warehouse Engineer, we expect you to:

  • Set up and work on DWH related projects.
  • Automate and optimize various processes within the DWH.
  • Gather requirements for new increments from end-users.
  • Collaborate with end-users on testing the increments.
  • Advise and guide stakeholders regarding the use of data.
  • Collaborate with the team on their journey towards DevOps (e.g., CI/CD).
  • Resolve operational incidents.

Your team:

As a Data Warehouse Engineer within the Retail Banking IT Domain, you are part of a product team. In this team, there are several competencies present, including Application Managers, Business Analysts, Data Engineers, and Salesforce engineers. We strive for an informal, collegial atmosphere where respect, trust, openness, and appreciation are core values.

NIBC as an IT employer:

NIBC IT consists of several domains, and together we aim to be one of the driving forces behind the digital transformation of our bank. This ongoing process will profoundly change our relationship with clients and the way we do business. We are closely connected and have short lines of communication. If you have a good idea today, you may be elaborating it tomorrow. IT is forever changing, and so is NIBC. In order for us to keep on changing, we need sophisticated individuals to help lead the bank into the future.

NIBC as an organization:

Founded in 1945 to finance visionary entrepreneurs who helped rebuild the Netherlands after World War II, NIBC collaborates closely while professionally supporting companies and individuals in realizing their dreams and goals with a sustainable future in mind. As a multicultural midsize bank, we share a forward-thinking, can-do attitude with our employees and clients, which we call our THINK YES mentality. Our corporate values are Professional, Adaptive, Collaborative, and Entrepreneurial. You will have a direct and meaningful impact on both the bank and its clients.

What’s in it for you?

NIBC is an ambitious environment where we strive to create a fantastic workplace where you feel safe and challenged to be the best version of yourself. You receive a competitive salary, plus:

  • Personal development budget to spend at your own discretion.
  • Professional budget provided by your manager to develop yourself in your work.
  • In-house training offerings.
  • NIBC embraces the Hybrid way of Working, supporting both working from home and coming to the office. The guideline is to spend at least half of your working time at the office.
  • Travel expenses or NS Business Card 1st class.
  • 32 holidays (which do not have to be registered).
  • Excellent pension scheme (26% NIBC contribution).
  • A voucher to improve your home office.
  • The opportunity to take ownership and show initiative in your role.
  • The nature of our Grow to Make a Difference program enables you to be in charge of your own development.
  • Two staff associations: YoungNIBC and MyLeisure.
  • Vitality program and annual company-wide sports & leisure days.
  • Monthly internet allowance.
  • Laptop and company phone.
  • Excellent facilities at the office (Coffee corner, Restaurant, Exchange bar).
  • A fun workplace where diversity and inclusion are valued.

What do you bring?

  • At least 5 years of experience with data warehouse development on the Microsoft BI Stack (SQL Server, T-SQL / SSIS / Visual Studio).
  • Experience with Azure DevOps.
  • Experience working with Cloud technologies, like Azure Data Factory.
  • Experience with data modeling and data integration.
  • Experience with Data Warehouse automation tooling.
  • A relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree.
  • Experience in working in Agile/Scrum/DevOps teams or a clear understanding of the methodology.
  • Fluent in English; Dutch is preferred.
