Accounting Specialist - EMEA
About the Role:
As an Accounting Specialist within the Lifestyle Division EMEA, you will be responsible for the Financial Month Close, Reporting, and Risk Control and will play a key role in optimizing processes within the Finance team. The Accounting Specialist reports to the Senior Manager, Finance and Controlling and closely works with the Business Analysis Team and Shared Service Centers in Hungary and India.
What You Will Do:
- Prepare monthly journals for Financial Month End Close regarding accruals and provisions.
- Review financial statements and conduct variance analysis.
- Provide balance sheet reconciliations and proactively follow up on action items.
- Deliver timely and accurate reporting to stakeholders such as Corporate Finance, Global BU Controllers, and Treasury.
- Initiate and support process improvement projects.
- Collaborate with Shared Service transactional processing and General Ledger Accounting teams to ensure accurate and consistent accounting.
- Keep Control Documents updated and act as the go-to person for Internal and External Auditors regarding controls within the area of responsibility.
- Maintain and comply with procedures while seeking process improvements.
What You Need:
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and changing environment.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, finance, or related fields.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in an international finance/controlling function.
- Strong accounting background with knowledge of IFRS.
- Strong analytical skills, especially in Excel.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Residence in the Netherlands.
What is Nice to Have:
- Professional Qualification (ACCA/CPA/CMA/RA).
- Knowledge and experience with financial systems like SAP and BPC.
- Knowledge and experience within the retail or consumer electronics markets.
- Experience with Qlik.
- Audit experience at a Big 4 company.
- Knowledge of other European languages (Dutch, German, French, etc.).
