Integrated Photonics Team OverviewAs part of the Integrated Photonics team, you will be at the forefront of developing novel integrated photonic devices and (heterogeneous) systems for a wide range of applications. The focus of your position will be on InP component and chip design for different applications (high speed interconnects, sensing, and free-space light manipulation and steering). You will work with internal and external partners to further integrate these chips in (heterogeneous) InP/SiN assemblies and jointly validate such systems in a lab environment.
Your Responsibilities:- Design, simulation, and optimization of PIC components (passive waveguides, modulators, MMIs, etc.).
- Design full PICs for different applications (high speed interconnects, sensing, and free-space light manipulation and steering).
- Opto-electronic PIC design.
- Perform DoE to increase PIC component tolerance to fabrication variations.
- Electrical (DC and high speed) and optical characterization of chips.
- Guide and lead chip layout for in-house fabrications, MPWs, and dedicated runs at external foundries.
- Manage projects and initiate/lead partner/customer interactions.
- Create algorithms to speed up chips design, layout, and characterization.
- Contribute to high-quality reports, publications, and documentation and attend conferences.
