As an UNStudio Associate Design Director, you will lead collaborative teams dedicated to innovation and excellence in design delivery. Use your unique design perspective to bring new approaches to the design process and strategy, and help clients re-imagine and redesign what's possible.

You will oversee the implementation of best practices across the team and develop talent for the future. This multifaceted role focuses on design, strategic planning & support, with a primary focus on being accountable for Design Excellence in all aspects of a project.

As an Associate Design Director at UNStudio, you will be an integral part of our global leadership team, working alongside other associate directors and reporting directly to the studio director. Each associate director has a unique specialty, and we are seeking someone with a strong design focus.

In this role, you will:

1. Lead and inspire a talented team of approximately 15 architects and professionals from diverse disciplines, including BIM and interior design.
2. Drive the creative process on multiple projects, guiding them from acquisition through to design development and execution.
3. Ensure the highest standards of design excellence and quality across all projects.
4. Be the primary point of contact for clients and consultants, representing UNStudio with confidence and expertise.
5. Actively participate in client development, leveraging your network to build strong business relationships.
6. Take full accountability for project outcomes, including design, technical aspects, planning, and budgeting.

What we are looking for:

1. A Master’s Degree in Architecture.
2. Over 15 years of architectural experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role, in high-demand, international environments.
3. Proven success in leading and delivering large-scale projects with a focus on design excellence and innovation.
4. Exceptional communication and presentation skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels.
5. The ability to manage competing priorities, navigate ambiguity, and drive results in a fast-paced setting.
6. A strategic mindset with strong business acumen and the ability to identify emerging opportunities in the design market.
7. A collaborative approach to leadership, fostering teamwork, mentorship, and knowledge sharing.
8. Expertise in Design and Construction Stages and a broad understanding of other disciplines influencing the design.
9. Flexibility: Adaptable approach to projects and frequent travel.
10. Results Orientation: Drive for excellence in a high-demand environment.
11. Perseverance: Ability to 'sell the dream' of our designs to clients.
12. Stakeholder Management: Skilled in managing diverse relationships to keep projects on track.
