Nimsys (part of Gamma) is the ICT specialist in the field of business internet, network services, security, and telephony. Nimsys ensures that clients’ offices are optimally connected and that people within those businesses can work (together) without worries. Who are we looking for?We are looking for an active and inspiring team leader for our Technical team. We need a dynamic person with the confidence to join the team as a Lead and hit the ground running. What will you do?- Provide guidance as well as technical expertise to our 2nd Line Engineering and Support teams.
- Work closely with Gamma’s internal engineering teams to ensure network‑related projects are transitioned into operations efficiently and seamlessly—developing an effective working relationship with our Gamma engineers is therefore vital.
- Collaborate with the Service Delivery Team Leader and the Service Delivery team to facilitate ongoing changes to existing solutions.
- Ensure that tailored customer requirements are reviewed and developed in a way that maintains the integrity and stability of the network.
- Take responsibility for network security, including supporting internal governance meetings as well as external third‑party penetration testing and relevant audits.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, especially around tooling, capabilities, and efficiency (automation, monitoring, systems, skills).
- Keep up to date with industry best practices and emerging technologies relating to WAN, LAN, and SD‑WAN services.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including troubleshooting guides, knowledge base articles, and standard operating procedures.
- Promote knowledge sharing and collaboration within the support team(s) to enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness.
- Maintain customer network solutions in day‑to‑day operations.
- Perform upgrades and proactively maintain firmware versions across all devices.
- Provide escalation support for incidents from tier 2 and technical service desk teams.
- Participate in on‑call coverage for critical customer incidents.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and internal teams.
- Fluent in English and Dutch.
- Strong problem‑solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- In‑depth knowledge of LAN and SD‑WAN technologies, including routers, switches, firewalls, WAN optimization, and wireless technology.
- Strong understanding of network protocols such as TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and VLANs.
- Vendor‑specific experience in Cisco routing and switching.
- Deep knowledge of routing protocols, including internal and external BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
- Advanced knowledge of routers, switches, firewalls, and Access Control Lists (ACLs).
- Understanding of routers and core network infrastructure.
- Hands‑on experience designing, implementing, and troubleshooting IP networks.
- Strong background in configuring firewalls for enterprise and/or ISP services, including:
- Centralized/virtual firewall policy and best practices.
