ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a ‘hands on’, passionate and experienced Director of Ecommerce to lead Gisou’s global ecommerce growth across Direct-to-Consumer (Gisou.com) and Amazon, while owning CRM and loyalty programs to maximize customer lifetime value.

Based in Amsterdam, this full-time role is ideal for a leader obsessed with Customer-centricity (both empathetically and analytically), and a proven track record in delivering successful DTC growth roadmaps.

This includes, but is not limited to:

Ecommerce Strategy & Leadership

· Drive and execute Gisou’s global ecommerce strategy across D2C and Amazon.

· Lead and inspire a high-performing team, fostering collaboration and data-driven decision-making.

· Champion customer-centricity and ensure a best-in-class digital experience.

· Ensure strong cross-functional collaboration and alignment with overarching business objectives, acting as the key

connector between Digital, Brand, Creative, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance

Direct-to-Consumer (Gisou.com)

· Responsible for the growth and profitability of Gisou.com

· Oversee trading performance, site optimization, and UX enhancements.

· Drive promotional and campaign calendars in collaboration with Brand and Creative teams.

· Ensure storefronts are optimized for conversion, user-friendly, and aligned with the brand & creative direction.

· Ensure flawless execution across onsite experience, CRM, and loyalty touchpoints.

Amazon

· Overseeing our Amazon Manager, drive the Amazon growth strategies, including content optimization and event planning (Prime Day, BFCM).

· Monitor performance, reviews, and customer feedback to maintain strong brand presence.

· Use data and insights to identify new growth opportunities and refine execution.

CRM & Loyalty

· Lead and execute CRM strategy across email and loyalty programs to increase retention and engagement.

· Define and lead the execution of retention strategies aimed at increasing customer lifetime value (LTV).

· Drive initiatives to convert social media followers into the CRM database and ultimately into ecommerce customers.

· Leverage data to personalize experiences and improve customer engagement.

Data & Reporting

· Drive the effective use of existing data infrastructure to inform decision-making and optimize performance.

· Implement weekly and monthly reporting processes that provide actionable insights across all ecommerce channels.

· Use data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement, ensuring strategies are insight-driven.

· Maintain compliance with data protection regulations while enhancing data utilization.

What We’re Looking For
  • Entrepreneurial, self-starter, with a desire to make an impact.

  • 10+ years of experience in DTC eCommerce, with at least 5 years in leadership roles and very solid ecommerce business fundamentals.

  • Experience in multi-brand Retailer DTC (preferable) or advanced single-Brand DTC.

  • Proven experience in leading, managing, and developing cross-functional teams.

  • An obsession for Customer-centricity in all its aspects.

  • A developed flair for premium brands, their positioning and messaging.

  • Understanding of consumer behavior in the beauty, personal care, or lifestyle industries.

  • A proven track record of leading successful DTC growth strategies.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and build relationships with stakeholders across all levels of the organization.

  • Genuinely data-driven. Strong background in leveraging data analytics and insights to inform business decisions and drive operational efficiency.

  • Expertise in budget management and financial oversight, including direct P&L responsibility.

  • Demonstrated capability in strategically allocating resources and controlling costs to foster sustainable business scalability in a fluctuating digital and eCommerce environment.
