Job DescriptionThe role of the Director of Sales is pivotal in shaping and advancing the direction of the sales department at Viking Masek US. This encompasses strategic responsibilities such as forecasting, training, onboarding new hires, devising national growth plans, and steering the overall scalability and revenue expansion in North America. The Director of Sales is tasked with developing and expanding equipment sales within North America, as well as fostering and expanding relationships with an established customer base. This position demands exceptional interpersonal communication skills, the ability to maintain a high standard of work in a fast-paced environment, and effective leadership skills to enhance morale, promote teamwork, and foster resolution within the sales department. The Director of Sales must possess a deep understanding of product suites, industry trends, and the agility to adapt plans to remain competitive in the dynamic North American marketplace. Additionally, they will serve as a member of the Sr. Planning Team, contributing to quarterly and annual strategic planning.

- Manage and expand the sales funnel for consistent new business acquisition
- Negotiate contracts to maximize profitability
- Deliver accurate and timely sales forecasts and performance report
- Develop and implement North American growth plans
- Establish annual sales targets at company, division, and individual levels
- Identify product line improvement opportunities and communicate to cross-functional teams
- Establish and manage the sales team budget.
- Monitor market conditions to identify risks and opportunities
- Understand competitor products, technologies, and positioning
- Provide market insights to guide marketing towards industry differentiation
- Collaborate with marketing to develop impactful industry leading campaigns
- Work closely with other departments to enhance customer experience
- Foster strong internal communication and alignment
- Collaborate with leadership on strategic company initiatives
- Cross-functionally manage quote templates to ensure contracts protect company interests
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- 7–10+ years of progressive experience in sales, with at least 3–5 years in a sales leadership or director-level role.
- Proven track record of driving sales growth, especially in North American markets.
- Strong leadership and team development experience, including training, onboarding, and performance management.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans aligned with company goals.
- Proficiency in forecasting, sales pipeline management, and budget oversight.
- Strong contract negotiation skills and experience managing complex B2B sales.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience working in a cross-functional leadership team or contributing to strategic planning at a senior level.
- Proficient with CRM systems and data-driven decision-making.
- Travel up to 25% annually
- MBA or other advanced business degree.
- Experience in the packaging equipment or capital equipment industry.
- Background in industrial automation, machinery, or manufacturing sectors.
- Knowledge of Lean principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Familiarity with international sales or expansion beyond North America.
- Experience with product development feedback loops and market-driven innovation.
- Fluency in additional languages, especially Spanish, French, or German.
- Proficiency with advanced analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Experience integrating sales and marketing strategy to drive growth campaigns.
- Understanding of regulatory environments relevant to packaging equipment (e.g., food, pharma).
