Our client is a video-on-demand company offering streaming services for specialized target groups. With almost 100.000 paying subscribers currently divided over two separate streaming services, they are the more specialized, in-depth competitor of big names such as Netflix, Amazon Prime and HBO Max. Their data team consistsing of a Data Engineer and two Data Analysts, is responsible for collecting data, translating it into information and making it available to the rest of the organization. They do this by developing data products such as reports and dashboards, participating in company-wide projects, and delivering findings to various teams.
About the role...We are actively looking for a Data Scientist who wants to delve into and understand the data that is readily available on their Azure Cloud. Someone who keeps asking questions about what all the business metrics mean and what the underlying value is. And based on gained insights, build new tools to: monitor said metrics, unlock more value of their data, and expand their knowledge. This comes down to:
- Building tools to measure and monitor their most important business KPI’s.
- Help to model and forecast or build recommendations for their business (e.g. For subscription base, revenue).
- Design new solutions and think about how to maximize the value of data.
- Collaborate with project teams, for example by setting up A/B tests or by deep-diving in some metrics.
Our client is on an Azure (SQL/Data Explorer) cloud environment with dashboards in PowerBI and a Spark/Databricks integration. But, with you moving into the role of Data Scientist, they are open to any suggestions on which tools might be beneficiary. Our client welcomes you to come experiment, come up with new things that can help the business!

- Finished degree in Quantitative field, such as Data Science or Business Analytics;
- 2+ years of working experience as Data Scientist / Data Analyst;
- Experience in SQL and Python;
- Experience with a dashboarding tool such as PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik or comparable;
- Entrepreneurial mindset: you love to experiment but have a business goal in mind.
Dutch proficiency for this role is not required, however candidates need to be living in the Netherlands for some time already. Our client cannot offer a Sponsorship!
