Responsibilities- Partner with the Product Manager and product team (including Data Engineers, Backend Engineers, Data Analysts, App Developers, and Front-End Developers) to implement and evolve a conversational AI assistant for Eneco’s consumer channels
- Guide the team in defining requirements for new features and measuring effectiveness and accuracy of GenAI solutions
- Expand the AI assistant’s capabilities, bringing new functionality to enhance customer interactions
- Lead the professionalization and productization of GenAI systems, providing expert recommendations and adapting to changing priorities as the GenAI journey evolves
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to balance commercial requirements with engineering best practices
- Apply a pragmatic, iterative approach to data science, quickly demonstrating value through prototypes, pilots, and working products
- Identifying and scoping impactful data science projects within the product team
- Building and maintaining reliable metric pipelines, including alerting, drift tracking, and reliability monitoring
- Creating GenAI evaluation frameworks and measuring the effectiveness of conversational AI features
- Sharing knowledge and fostering a culture of continuous learning and development within the team
- Acting as a key partner to the Product Manager, influencing the roadmap and strategy for AI-driven customer communication
- Ensuring the performance of ML/statistical models in production settings
- Drive the development and productization of Eneco’s AI assistant for consumer communication channels
- Partner closely with Product Managers and cross-functional teams to deliver innovative GenAI solutions
- Help Eneco and its customers become climate neutral by 2035 through data-driven digital products
- MSc in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics)
- 4+ years of experience as a Data Scientist in a company setting
- Experience implementing GenAI chatbots or conversational AI systems
- Strong programming skills in Python and SQL; experience with Azure, MLFlow, AirFlow, and Databricks is a plus
- Knowledge of data science techniques, NLP, and statistical methods
- Experience in data engineering, building metric pipelines, and integrating data from diverse sources
- Ability to independently drive projects and mentor junior colleagues
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
- Dutch language skills are a strong plus
- A curious mindset and interest in the energy domain
