Location: The successful candidate may be based in a country where one of the independent National/Regional Greenpeace organisations (NRO’s) is located. See the locations here. Unfortunately, we are currently unable to host new staff in a number of NROs at this present time, due to various restrictions. We are unable to support hosting of new staff in Africa, India, US, UK, Italy, Colombia, MENA region, in addition to some other NRO locations. The recruitment team may reach out to you to provide an update as necessary, depending on your location.
Internal GP network candidates from NROs (not current GPI staff) will be considered on a case by case basis as we cannot guarantee hosting capacity for GPI staff in every location where there is a GP office. We will aim to explore possibilities for qualified GP network candidates.
We offer competitive NGO level salary and benefits, the specifics of which depend on location where the successful candidates will be based. We aim to share this information with candidates before reaching the offer stage.
The RoleIn this role, you will lead the design and implementation of powerful digital and engagement strategies that mobilise supporters, build communities, and amplify the voices driving change in our global projects. You will complement existing team strengths by working closely with campaigners, communicators, and engagement specialists to tell engaging stories that take people from awareness to action, and from clicks to collective power.
In this role you will:-
Advise on or propose digital campaigns that inspire participation, deepen engagement, and deliver tangible impact globally.

Integrate storytelling and narrative framing into digital campaigning to grow community, hope, and courage in our audiences.

Use data and audience insights to test, learn, and optimise strategies that connect people meaningfully to Greenpeace’s global campaigns.

Act as a connector/bridge between global teams and NROs.

Build capacity and collaboration by supporting National and Regional Organisations (NROs) to strengthen their digital campaigning, engagement, and mobilisation capabilities.

Co-create campaigns with NROs and building community across regions - working across cultures and timezones.

Foster a culture of innovation and inclusion, connecting online and offline activism, and promoting safe and creative digital practices.

Champion an audience-centric approach, helping Greenpeace reach new audiences and deepen relationships with existing supporters, volunteers, and allies.
You are a strategist, a storyteller, and a digital mobiliser who believes in the power of people to create change. You bring:
- Demonstrated experience developing and managing digital campaigns that mobilise large audiences or communities for social or environmental causes.
- General digital skill sets across content, analytics, trends, email, and audience journeys.
- Deep understanding of digital communication trends identifying what resonates on social media, and how to create and optimise content to cut through the noise.
- A strong grasp of storytelling, tendencies, audience engagement, and movement-building, with the ability to turn ideas into collective action and building community.
- Adaptability to the variable nature of campaign involvement, sometimes providing strategic leadership, whilst other times engagement support.
- Experience in collaboration and capacity building across teams, countries, and cultures.
- Strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of digital analytics and insights, and how to translate data into creative campaign strategies that drive impact.
- Adaptability to changing digital environments.
- A commitment to equity, safety, and ethics in digital activism.

Skills and Qualifications- Significant expert-level experience.
- A track record of delivering ambitious engagement strategies and high-level expertise in multiple engagement areas (for ex channels, audience, storytelling, journey, Fundraising, volunteering, and movement building) including an in-depth understanding of a range of campaigning techniques and processes
- High-level experience in a range of direct marketing techniques (segmentation, test matrices, etc.) and channels (direct mail, digital, direct dialogue, telephone, etc.)
