At the office in Rotterdam, everything revolves around precision, speed, and international collaboration. For a major logistics project, we are looking for an ocean freight forwarder who knows how to manage global shipments from A to Z. You will handle all documentation, communicate with international stakeholders, and ensure each shipment is processed correctly and on time. You’ll be part of a diverse, international team and work directly for the hiring company.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and verify transport documents such as B/L, CMR, and customs forms.
- Manage import and export shipments via ocean freight.
- Coordinate shipments with shipping lines, carriers, and internal departments.
- Identify and resolve issues with shipments proactively.
- Maintain daily contact with international clients and suppliers.
- Process shipments in internal systems and track their status.
- Ensure timely and accurate invoicing of files.
- Monitor deadlines, ETA’s, and customer agreements.
- Identify opportunities to improve the logistics process.
- Has at least 1 year of experience as an ocean freight forwarder or in a similar role.
- Is familiar with all related documentation and freight processes.
- Speaks English fluently; Dutch is a plus but not required.
- Has experience with systems like SAP, Cargowise, or similar (preferred).
- Communicates clearly and is service-oriented.
- Works in a structured and organized way, especially under pressure.
- Is a team player with a hands-on mentality.
- Is flexible and willing to occasionally work outside office hours for urgent shipments.
- A direct contract with the hiring company.
