Job Purpose:
As Category Manager, you will define and execute category strategies, lead sourcing and contracting activities, and ensure supplier performance supports business objectives. You will act as a trusted partner to internal stakeholders, driving value, innovation, and sustainability across your category.
Your tasks:
- Lead end-to-end sourcing activities, from identifying needs to selecting suppliers, conducting negotiations, and managing contracts.
- Develop, define, and implement innovative category strategies that create long-term value for DHL.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment between business needs and procurement solutions.
- Monitor supplier performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and ensure compliance with contractual agreements.
- Analyze market trends, benchmark best practices, and proactively identify opportunities for innovation and savings.
- Contribute to cross-functional projects and share knowledge within the global procurement community.
Your profile:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in strategic sourcing, preferably within packaging-related spend.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across functions.
- Proven negotiation expertise with a record of achieving successful, value-driven agreements.
- Excellent analytical skills, capable of interpreting complex data and translating insights into action.
- Skilled in relationship and project management, comfortable working in diverse, cross-functional teams.
- Fluent in English and Dutch, both written and spoken.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), MS Project, and familiar with procurement tools and processes.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, preferably in engineering (mechanical, industrial, or related field).
