As a quality inspector, you'll work in a high-tech environment on advanced composite parts for the aerospace industry. No day is the same. One day you might test a new panel for a satellite, and the next you'll coordinate with engineers about product quality. A Day in the Life of a Quality Inspector
You start your day with a cup of coffee and check the dashboard: today, you'll be inspecting components that will soon take to the skies, or even into space. Together with your colleagues, you align on the schedule and then get straight to work.
You perform visual inspections, measure, and test components down to the millimeter. Spot a deviation? You'll work with engineering to find a solution together. You also carry out Factory Acceptance Tests and carefully document everything to ensure complete traceability.
In the afternoon, you inspect incoming materials, calibrate measuring equipment, and monitor cleanroom conditions. At the end of the day, you update your reports and review tomorrow's schedule with the team.
Every day is different, but one thing remains constant: you make sure only top-quality products leave the floor. And that feels great.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform quality inspections on composite panels and aerospace components
- Conduct visual checks, measurements, and tests to identify deviations
- Carry out Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) before shipment
- Inspect incoming raw materials and purchased parts
- Calibrate measuring instruments according to the maintenance schedule
- Monitor and record temperature and humidity (cleanroom environment)
- Prepare inspection reports and ensure traceability
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and procurement on quality issues
- Contribute to internal and external audits and quality assurance
- A minimum of an MBO-level (secondary vocational) diploma in a technical field or equivalent work experience
- At least 2 years of experience in quality control, production, or technical development
- Experience in aerospace or composite manufacturing is a plus, not a must
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Knowledge of measurement and inspection techniques (experience with CMM or NDI is an advantage)
- Accuracy and a strong eye for detail
- Proficient in English (Dutch is a plus)
